Greetings,
I attempted my first star trail photo last night using the interval timer function on my Z6 and stacking the images in Photoshop. I got close, but had some problems.
As you can see, there are small gaps between the star images.
I used the following settings on my Z6 with a 14-30 F4 S lens
IS0 200
F4
30" exposure
Interval Timer set at:
Interval: 32"
Intervals x shots/interval: 25 x 1
Exposure smoothing: off
Silent photography: off
Interval priority: off
I also had vibration reduction turned off and had the lens on manual focus set to infinity.
I recorded 13 photos, not 25 and there were gaps between images.
Do I need a longer interval? It seems like 2 seconds longer than exposure time should be sufficient.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jack
