Having owned a D80 for many years, I decided to go mirrorless and bought a Z6. Have only played with it at home in auto mode so far, there is a lot to learn.

I bought mine a few months ago and am loving it.  The focus system is a bit learn, but their are a couple firmware updates that you may need updated the latest is 2.01 they are on the Nikon site.  I also bought a  handbook. That helped.

Congratulations

Thanks.

I checked the serial no. on the Nikon site and it doesn't need the update.

Checking serial numbers for a firmware update doesn't make sense. What version is in your camera? The latest can be found here, it was updated on July 31. Firmware version 2.0 seems to have added quite a bit of useful things, 2.01 is bugfixes.

Sorry. I didn't mean a firmware update, but the one where the camera has to be returned to Nikon.

Firmware updates are on the download center for your region.  it is located under support. They walk you through every thing from where it is in the camera menu to how it is replaced.

Yes, I found that. I'll do the upgrades in a few days.

Hi Leon

Make sure you update to v3.1 now for you Z6 which came out yesterday 21st. July 2020  I had a problem with the RAW images on the FTZ  converter.  This has fixed it.

"Received my Z6 yesterday" you said almost a year ago John?

SHAME ON YOU!
Now you're broke. Forget about a new yacht, car, motorcycle,
even a guitar… a shame I say!

All you can do is take pictures of the toys others — who did not
bought the Z6 — have instead…
Have a good time doing so! :P
