wifi connection

Hi Guys. Just bought a Coolpix P900 and trying to connect my smartphone and camera but after following all the instructions it fails. any ideas please ?

This is what is instructed.

go to wifi icon

click on options

click SSID

click auth/encrypt to WPA2-PSK-AEs click enter password

click connect to smart device

open settings on smart device (iphone6plus) and go to the Nikon SSID

click on that...then it fails to connect and times out
