Got given a D7000 off my Grandson only 15,000 actuations. Thing is when I try the sigma 24-135 or the 70-200, I get the dreaded fEE come on.

Its ok @ f22. Its also OK with the standard Nikon DX 18-55mm that ok.

So it seems to talk ok with 18-55 but not the bigger lens?

Can this be fixed?

Thanks

If the lenses that misbehave have aperture control rings, they work as designed. On the D7000, the aperture ring must be set to the smallest value to let the body control the full range of apertures. The reason is that the aperture ring stops the aperture at the set value, which means that the control coupling doesn't have its full range as it can't close down more.

If you want to use the aperture ring, there is a custom function to do so.

The D7xxx bodies and upwards have lots of user-settable parameters to optimize the ergonomics for the user.

The one you need now is Custom function f6, page 233 in the manual.
