Looking to buy a new SD card for my new Nikon P1000, I see all these different speed ratings on cards these days, but cannot find what is the max speed my camera can transfer to the card to aid in my decision...any recommendations?  I don't want to spend money on a faster card if my camera won't keep up with it, see what I am saying?

At 7 fps and 16 MP, the problem is not much the card but the buffer
eventually; I did not find anything on the buffer capacity photo/video.

Considering you "might" not need a pro fire rate, I would suggest the
SDHC type.

However, should your desktop machine handle it, the SDXC would
make sure the transfer rate will be fast enough.

In any case, the greater difference in price is in the card's capacity:
8, 16, 32, 64 GB respectively. If you are an occasional shooter, the
8 or 16 MB are good enough as if you shoot photo/video, say during
a month long holiday, you might contemplate the bigger cards.

Cards are not the place to save money but to be clever in spending it.

I use Sandisk cards in all my cameras since years. AVOID lower qua-
lity cards!!!

+1 for Sandisk cards. I use 32GB Sandisk Extreme PRO cards.

There is always the fact that ingesting the photos through a cardreader goes faster with a faster card.

 

I third the recommendation for Sandisk cards, but buy from a reputable dealer. They are some of the most often counterfeited photo accessories of all time.

I've noticed that my D7500 shoots faster fps with the cards you are using. 10 vs 8.
