I just upgraded to a Nikon Z6, put on my Tamron 150-600mm lens and found that the autofocus doesn't work. Is it me or is the autofocus feature of the lens inoperable with this camera? Just as a verification, autofocus is working for this lens on my Nikon D5500.

The first generation 150-600 seems to be incompatible with the adapter for z-mount.

here issue with tamron gen 1 lens like 150-600mm i have the same lens. your going to have learn how to manual focus with it. i do for softball all time and love to use it. also like fact teaching how to manual focus. but when go past 300mm is pain in butt to get right. so 300mm or less your manually focus and get sharp pictures. once go past 300mm its chore. since you can only move zoom ring just hair or slightly to get lock on so going be chore to find sweet spot. i try do it at 400-600mm for softball and chore. since need small turn left or right to get lock on. since no vr. your going to need tripod to hold it so steady get shake from you turning zoom ring or keep straight up and down and steady with out movement. your going to have to do what i will have to do down the line. sell for cash get gen 2 or sigma none sport 150-600mm or Nikon 200-500mm to get autofocus. people will come to me for help on this lens all time. i will not get rid of soon since love fact making learn how to use lens manually and in MF aka manual mode. if need more help will check back with thread in couple days. we can talk and i can give more tips or info you need on it. best bet is get tripod to keep so steady for no shakes when manually focusing.
