Hi Guys and Girls, Im using a D850 with a 28-300mm lens f3.5-5.6G in Aperture Priority and wondered why I cant adjust the camera aperture down to f3.5.  The lowest it will go is f4, yet I can adjust the camera up to f10. Can anyone give me a reason why. The shutter speed with this is 40th if that makes a difference and ISO is on auto. Thankyou.

It is only going to reach f3.5 at 28mm. Any focal length longer than that will automatically close the max aperture down to eventually 5.6.
