I'm referring to the screens on the D5500 or D5600 (and whatever other models have them). How long are they going to last as they are made of plastic? I've seen them spin and flip in video demos but wonder how easy they would break off if someone was in a hurry.

What are your experiences/recommendations?

They seem reasonably robust, but have to admit I treat them gently. I can't remember seeing any topics online about problems with them.

They have the advantage of a bit more angles and being able to close it to protect it. But with that said, I prefer the ergonomics of the tilting screen.

They are remarkably robust and they are easier to position to avoid glare than the tilt screen. They work well for macro shooting as they can be used easily for portrait formats.
