So I have been frantically looking for a D3 and yesterday found one that was way to good to pass up, it was going for $800 on a bidding website (we all know which one) and had a shutter count of 230,000. That doesn't bother me cause I know to fix it cost about $900 which would put me in the same price range as one that has taken under 10k but it would still have some life left in it so I would be able to make some money out of it before i have to fork out for any repairs.
But upon calling my Local camera store who are very well informed and been in the industry for years they started asking if I would look at the D700's, Second hand from them in mint condition with box, Memory card, spare battery, vertical grip and only 4k shutter counts they said I could pick it up for $1,400, But as I started researching I found out the D700 only had 1 Memory card slot.
My stance on this issue is if I am doing peoples wedding or any other special occasion I feel it is imperative to have a backup card in case anything happens to the first card.
Is this being to overly careful, Would you shoot professionally with the D700 and have you had many other bad Examples before to.
