D7500 pictures black - why?

I have a. new D7500; auto mode works fine, but aperture or shutter priority produced totally black screen...what did I do wrong?

The RFM strategy is most important with new gear!
A perfect understanding of the exposure triangle is
key to setup whichever way you may want to explore.

May I suggest:

  1. take a shot in Auto mode
  2. in aperture mode and
  3. in shutter priority mode too
  4. post all three with their respective exif

With the examples and the exif we may see what went wrong.
