In Wildlife Photography… Mega Pixels Do Matter

As usual, I went to the marsh for a brake from studio work.
Equipped with the 600 mm ƒ4 and the D850 combo, I took 
this shot of a Pied Wagtail as it landed on a fallen branch at 
the line between the river and the marsh that it feeds.

Thanks to the 600, this is the full frame capture of the scene…

Thanks to the 45,7 MP of the sensor, I can pull out this crop-
ped rendition at 100%…

It helps when megapixels are mated to a lens like that, lots use them with the cheaper long zooms, these are ok for the price but would struggle to do that.

 

And dont forget good long lens technique  :D

Yes and for those who believe that gear is not 
important — which is true when one stays away
from extremes — it is quite necessary when one
wants to explore new avenues.
