I am new here and to taking pictures. I will be getting into Photoshop and will need a camera that will take some awesome pictures of items our company sells to make larger pictures printed on a wall, post on website etc. Suggestions? I was reading something on here about a D800 and I know a store by my house is selling a D7500.

Thanks guys

Product photography is much harder than it looks. The lighting will have to be spot-on and you need as much dynamic range as you can get. The megapixels are a second- or even third order consideration. As the viewing distance is quite long, anything above 12 MP can do the work resolution-wise.

A DX body , some speedlights and a lighting tent can be used for web marketing with lots of experience. For print marketing, the DX body is still doable, but you will need a studio and strobes as the lighting quality is more important.

To get awesome product shots, you need an experienced studio photographer to do the work. To do a good job yourself, you need studio strobes with quite a selection of light modifiers, backgrounds, perhaps a shoot-through table, a sturdy tripod with a good head, a camera body with high DR (preferably a D8x0 series) and a selection of prime lenses. This will probably not be enough as you will need some education on both the basics and studio work as you are new to taking pictures. Product photography is an important aspect of a company's outward face and hiring a good photographer is well invested money.
