These are my current Nikon Coolpix cameras - P1000, B700 and A1000. Not shown is the first one I acquired, a P530, which was subsequently "gifted" to a family member. Their optical zoom from left to right is 125X, 60X and 35X. All use a small 1/2.3" sensor, have PSAM modes and can capture RAW data files. Also, all have electronic viewfinders and articulating screens but only the A1000 has a touch screen. The images here were captured with my phone and are only intended to compare relative sizes.

I know.    Thanks for looking. It's certainly not everyone's approach for gathering images. I admire those who are skilled in the use of DSLRs with replaceable lenses. For me, though, so called "bridge cameras" offer a reasonable way to scratch my hobbyist's itch for taking pictures and enjoying the results. As a bonus, cameras such as these can be a vehicle to learn the vagaries of fully manual shooting if a user is so inclined. On that point, I'm just beginning.

I guess I should clarify regarding "I'm just beginning." That only applies to full manual shooting. In the mid 1950s, I was a terror to behold with my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera. Heck, I even developed my own film although the black and white shots were quite small since I couldn't afford any enlarging equipment on an 12 year old's allowance.
