Hello, I'm trying to determine if an image was taken with the self timer enabled, I no longer have the camera but was able to extract the EXIF data with the EXIFTool by Phil Harvey. The SelfTimer field says 10s but the ShootingMode is SingleFrame, can anyone shed some light, does this indicate the self timer was used?

 

The response I received from the EXIFTool Forum suggested that:

 

"My guess is that SelfTimerTime tag always exists, and that the ShootingMode tag indicates whether or not the self-timer was used."

 

If anyone has a D80 and can shoot one image using self timer and a second without it would be very helpful.

My take is that the Self Timer time is just a system parameter and that the Shooting Mode tells if it was active or not. I don't have a D80 to test if it is correct.
