Hi,

Apologies for seeking help on my very 1st post. I bought a Z6 a few days ago which I hope to use mainly for video. It's a nice step up from my D7000 and I'm slowly getting familiar with all of it's menu options.

I haven't bought any Z lenses as of yet and so I'm using the FTZ adaptor with my existing ones. They all work well with the camera except for -

  • Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D, which I can only focus manually. I've tried it on the D7000 and it auto-focuses perfectly, it just doesn't seem to like mirrorless cameras.
  • Nikkor AF Fisheye 16mm f/2.8D, which again works flawlessly on the D7000

What am I missing please?

You need AF-S lenses for the autofocus to work as there is no focus motor in the adapter.

If lens does not say AF-S will not auto focus. Some AF-F might. Also found out 150-500mmvsigma and both tamron 100-400mm and 150-600mm gen 1 tamron too. Was at local camera found about 150-500MM and 100-400MM will not work. Also tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 gen 1 is only MF
