Today we had wonderful weather so I decided to get out and take some photos.  Imagine my surprise. :)

In a nutshell, while shooting, some graphics appeared on top of the images I had just taken.  These graphics gave

information such as: ISO, Hue,Color, Sharpness and some other stuff.  I swear, in all my years I have never seen or heard

of this type of thing happening.  I turned the camera off for a minute or two, turned it back on and the graphics were still

apparent.  I turned the camera off again but then removed the battery and waited approximately five minutes.  Replaced the

battery, turned the camera on and the graphics were still there.  I decided then that if there were some sort of miscue that it

already did some damage and continued shooting.  Eventually after about five shots, there was some scrambling of images

and then the graphics disappeared.  During shooting for the rest of the day, the graphics never did appear again.

Well, as they say in Japanese, "what the heck is that all about?"  :)

Thanks for any and all assistance.  I was using the Nikon D200 with the AF Nikkor IF, DX, ED 18~70mm lens.  Cheers.

TT

This might help: Screen info problem - Technical Troubleshooting - NikonForums.com

Pages 99-100 in the D200 manual might explain things.

Just my luck, my Magic Lantern Nikon D200 doesn't have it on those pages.  I was able to download it from Nikon's site.  Thanks very much for being so

helpful.  TT

Okay, I have been trying to replicate how this incident happened.  I did exactly how the Nikon D200 Manual instructs, and have no idea why I cannot get the same response.  I took an image, moved the rear selector wheel up and down and side to side and all that happened was the image going horizontally and vertically.  I did get into the Display Menu and have only Focus Points checked.  I could not locate the item that offers "Single Playback Option."  Just have to wait and see what happens.  Much Grass. If it scrolls the photo, you are zoomed in. You must have the full photo up on screen to change the overlay mode.

Okay, I tried to find out how to do that with no success.  I went into the display mode and left it on focus area only.  I am just about fed up with this.  I remember when photography was fun.  :(

Thanks again. tt
