Any given type of soft box will have the same angle of projection.
The only difference between a small and large SB is the wrap when
a large one is brought closer.
May I suggest you take your little SB much closer — this will require
less power btw.

So a month and a half ago I bought the B2 w 2 Heads for $999 from B&H and have been using it in conjunction with my B10... still need some practice but I am having tons of fun

I would not ignore the inherent DR of a scene but exploit it.

Ok, if you want to go the chiaroscuro way (which is a very cool way to do it),
it is like the left side of this frame. Contrary to stage light (another approach
that would use way more contrast), this scene seams to be sitting between
the two but taking advantage of none.
