For almost 6 years, I've carried my Nikon D3200 nearly every single day with a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm or 55-300mm lens.  I'm looking to downsize to one single lens, either the 16-300mm or the 18-270mm, both by Tamron.  I don't usually pull out my camera on a daily basis but I like to carry it for those just in case moments and if I purposely set out to shoot something, I more than likely would carry the two lenses I'm currently carrying rather than the single one I'm thinking about getting.  The only reason I'm considering moving to an all-in-one lens is to save space and some weight on my shoulders as I'm getting to a point where the weight is starting to bother my shoulders and back on a regular basis.  I'm looking for an opinion on what all-in-one lens people prefer and if you have the 18-270mm were you wishing that you had just a little more reach of the 16-300mm?  I've been debating this for a ridiculous amount of time and just want some other photographers opinions.  Thanks!

Is this really about weight? I ask as the 16-300 weighs 44 grams more than the 18-55 and 55-200 combined. Even the 18-270 would only net you a bit less than 2 ounces on the overall kit, and IMHO you'd sacrifice quite a bit in optical quality.

I have the D5600 after down sizing from a boat anchor 5D, for me the camera itself was all about shedding weight especially as I wanted a single all in one lens which is heavier.  I bought the Tamron 16-300 and have been very happy with it as far as it taking tourist quality photos.  If your looking for sharpness this lens is not what you are looking for. While I can correct for a bit of softness in the post it's never going to look as sharp as a quality Prime or Shorter zoom.  I've been leaning towards getting another 5600 and 2 shorter lenses to cover from 16 - 200 range.  with the cost of a refurbished of Demo 5600 and lenses being what it is I just may get another body so I have two shorter lenses readily available should I need it.
