Hi All!

 

I'm terribly confused on what camera to get. I've been using my D3200 but am planning to upgrade either to D7100 or D5300.

 

I primarily use my DSLR to shoot videos. 80% of my videos are slow motion in post meaning I always shoot 720p 60fps from my D3200, lower speed to 50% in post then export at 720p 30 fps. Then post the videos to Facebook and Youtube.

 

I actually already got a new D7100. However, I didn't know that 1080p 60i is not the same as 1080p 60p. 60i is equivalent to just 30 fps. So I am back with 720p 60fps just like my D3200.

 

I'm contemplating if I should have gotten the D5300 instead.

 

Here are the questions I have in mind:

 

1. D5300 has 1080p 60fps feature. Will this feature have a significantly big difference in quality compared to D7100's 720p 60 fps? (Take note that I post videos in facebook and youtube)

 

2. By having the D5300's 1080p 60fps feature, will it give me more room in post so that I can zoom in and color grade without losing pixels when exported down to 720p 30fps? Or will quality be the same using D7100's 720p 60 fps then exported in post to 720p 30fps?

 

3. Should I just keep my D7100 now and just shoot in 720p 60fps? I mean this is a semi pro camera so the video quality should be better than D5300?  

 

4. Is the D7100 video quality 720p 60fps the same as D3200 video quality 720p 60fps?

 

 

I'm really confused and would appreciate your help.
