I have a new D3400.  Two lenses from an earlier Nikon appear incompatible: AF 50mm 1:1.4 D and AF 20mm 1:1.28 D.

I think they are pretty useful and hate to lose them.  Is it worth buying a used D70 or D50 in order to make them viable?

Thanks in advance.

Why go back so far?

A D300, D90 or early D7x00 doesn't cost much these days and they all have the focus motor in the body that the old AF lenses need.

Your lenses still work on anything but the D40, D60, D3x00 and D5x00 cameras.
