but in Antarctica.

Why… no such birds in the UK, Mike, or so rare there too?
Very rare in my area, you get them sometimes for a brief visit in the autumn at fishing lakes, i have some HI8 film of one landing on a pole with a fish and then being mobbed by Crows.

Mobbing Crows… all the same, everywhere,
they're too clever, bold for their own good!

There has been a major, and successful, effort to reestablish them here In Southern New jersey. The local wildlife refuge has lots of nesting pairs every spring and they are a joy to watch. Here is one of my favorites from last year,. I call it "Domestic on the marsh".
