I took a couple of photo"s in P mode and turned the back rotary control when the P came up with (P*).  When rotating it back it goes to just the (P)?

Cant seem to find any info on this.

Thanks

The P* indicates that you are in flexible mode, by having altered a value for that capture.

Have a look here

P* is a mode that was introduced on the F801/N8008 film body. I think it was called Hyper Program, or maybe ProgramFlex (One was Nikon and one Pentax and I don't remember which was which) then, but they seem to have dropped the name for it in later years.

The asterisk is a warning that the user has chosen to go up or down on the aperture/shutter speed ladder from the camera program value.

Hyper program is Pentax

I thought so, but I wasn't sure.
