Hello. I'm new to the forum so I'm hoping this post is in the correct topic. I was given a Nikon Series E 50mm lens that has internal dust and perhaps a few small mold dots. Can anyone suggest where I can send it to get cleaned and what may be a typical cost for this service. Thanks !

Not sure where you are from but sometimes local camera stores offer this service. Do a google search for professional Lens Cleaning.

Not a great fan of paying for mould to be removed as it can sometimes damage coatings, as for dust you would need a lot in it for it to matter.

A Series E is cheap enough that the CLA quickly gets more expensive than a lens in better shape. Mould and other fungi tend to like Nikon lens coatings. If you just kill off the spores with UV light, the lens might be usable without a teardown and CLA.

I am curious myself. I have looked for videos on the E series 135mm and can not find anything.

In in New Jersey. There are some local shops. I was able to kill off the spores with UV light. That's a good suggestion. What remains is a lot of dust on the elements. It an even covering. I'll run a roll of film through the camera to see if it affects the images. Thanks for the suggestions.
