I can't seem to set the focus to the centre like I could with d5300 and d3300. It is OK f I am close to the subject but at a distance, it seems to default to the bottom left corner.  Any suggestions on which settings to change - I have spent hours on it.

Also it is very slow to focus on moving subjects so I miss most bird in flight shots and all insect flight shots.  Is there anything I can do to improve the focus speed.

I had the same model lens on d3300 and 5300 and never had a problem but infortunately I dropped it so had to buy a new one which I did send back to be checked under warranty and was told it was working properly so it must be operator error
