Nature and maybe aircraft shots. Love to hear you’re experience, hopefully.
Thanks

I really like my Sigma Sports after I finetuned it using the dock. Here are some samples. I tried all the affordable supertele zooms before I decided on the Sigma. To me, it handles much better than the Nikon.
The advantage of finetuning using the dock instead of just performing an AF fine tune in the camera is that the correction curves are produced using 4 distances and 3 focal lengths. These more affordable lenses tend to vary much more in what correction is needed at different settings than your pro zooms.

Why " "?
The reviews are all pretty good, aren't they?
nothing looking forward to it comes Friday. Went on lots of reviews to make my mind up. While doing it and came back here I noticed replies to mine.
Just need to look into your advice about AF Fine tune you mentioned, see if I can master it.
Thanks

What swayed me to the Sigma was that I like to support long lenses at, or even under the lens hood. The Sports supports being used as a push-pull zoom according to the manual, the others don't. Holding a heavy, long lens like that makes panning at ridiculous shutter speeds easier. This is a very specific usage and I know that the Nikon definitely is in the top three in this class of lenses.

The AF Fine Tune I am referring to needs no
software and is performed within the camera.
I know, but with the USB-dock you have the opportunity to fine tune over the whole zoom range (in lens settings).

i have good question do you have local camera store near you. you could go out and tests both tamron version and sigma version along with nikon 200-500mm. from what i got sigma dealer last year at birding/wildlife festival. they said sport model better weather sealed heavier and more rugged to take the damage. so same as other sigma lens. when at space cost wildlife festival will test out gen 2 tamron and sigma version to see which one i like better. since if tamron does not fix issue with gen 1 150-600mm not working on Z6 by July. might be done buying tamron lenses. since second lens i own that had issue with on nikon body's. since want to use on D7200 and Z6 too. since need long range shots for soccer and softball/baseball games at local college and for auto racing too.

The Nikon 200-500 I'm getting has Sport mode also. I have a Tokina SD 11-16 f2.8 (IF) DXII and a Sigma 18-300 f3.5. So I might sell the Sigma and get a 18-135mm range lens as a walk about.
I then think that's all I will need.
Many Thanks all for your help.

I've juts brought the simga 150-600mm sport... i spent many hours research whether to get the 200-500mm or the 150-600mm sport
here are the main differences,
sigma-very heavy! sharper than the Nikon extra 100mm faster af completely whether sealed opition to fine tune.
nikon- smaller and lighter, removable tripod collar, less front heavy than the sigma.
IMO I'd go fro the sigma if you can cope with the extra weight.
