Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 20 January 2019, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

Also, if you haven't done so yet, stop by the "Your Best Photos of 2018" thread and share some of your best or favorite photos from last year: Your Best Photos of 2018 - Mini-Challenges, Member Contests, and Games - NikonForums.com

Both convincing shots, Dean… I would have
healed out the ugly wires in the first, though.

The DR of the D810 is spectacular, you did use it brilliantly!
What about the story telling? A train crash or else…  :P

Thanks a lot. I've been using the Pentax K-1 with the same censor and DR for a couple of years and when I went "dual-brand", I just couldn't resist the D810.

Hm.., story telling. Well not my strong suite. Maybe this one?

If you can tell anyone anything, you are telling a story. A joke — even a
dirty — one is a story. A picture is a thousand words they say… some
event, anything… if you want your picture to transcend the reportage,
or the documentation.

I shot this Friday afternoon at about 6pm, over here you are treated to wide open ocean sunsets almost everyday (minus storm days) and I wanted to do something different.  When I seen this break in the stone wall and the plants I thought that it would be a great way to frame the sunset. In processing I kept the wall in the shadows as I wanted your eyes to look at the sunset and not the wall. Editing was kept to a minimum with a slight bump on the brightness, lens correction, and noise reduction. Shot with a D5600 and Tamron 16-300 lens at 1/20, F18. iso 100, @ 62mm
