Picked up one of these cheaply via a pawn shop web site, arrived today and it's actually a fairly nice lens - fairly basic "motor in lens" AF design, no controls other than the auto/manual switch and manual focus ring but seems to be pretty sharp and reasonably solidly built. I'm going to wait for better weather to get some test shots, then I'll see how it compares to my old 50/1.8D

Anyone else tried one?

On the whole I'm favourably impressed - it's about as sharp as the 50/1.8, quieter, and seems to autofocus a little more accurately, so I may keep it and sell on the Nikkor. But I'm still a bit worried about robustness.
