New to IPhone and have not downloaded anything free, trying to keep the ads off the phone. My D5600 came with a thing for SnapBridge app. I have not downloaded for fear of getting pop ups from Nikon ... anyone tell me if the app causes ads?

Thanks

Michael

I haven’t had any ads or any kind of pop up yet and I’ve been using it I guess about six months now.

Thanks Fletch,

When I was reading about the D5600 and the SnapBridge I thought it would be really good for taking group photos. Once I got the camera I found I can set the Timer to take multiple photos so really don't need it for the group photo, but would like to send pictures from the camera to the IPhone to send to family in a text.

I see you are a Senior Member, I am surprised you have been using the SnapBridge for only six months?

But I would think you would have gotten hit with the adds by now if they were part of the app.

Thanks

Michael

How long one has used Snapbridge is mostly a matter of when one upgraded to a camera that uses it. It is still quite new technology and older cameras like the D7200 etc. don't use it.

I only recently switched from my old Canon 5D and 40D to the 5600.  I was no longer interested in lugging around a boat anchor all day and wanted a small yet capable light weight camera.  I choose the D5600 for that reason.  I mostly use the App when I am "trying" to do Astrophotography as I don't have to touch the camera. The 5600 does have an intervalometer function built in but I have not learned how to really take advantage of it yet. One of these days I need to take a class.
