I shoot film with a very occasional foray into digital. I bought a D300 just so that I could use my Ai and Ai-S lenses with it. I've had a D50 for years but have barely used it. I tried Sony, Micro 4/3, a Samsung NX 11 and still have two Canon DSLRs (for now). The D300 tempted me back, it made sense as I'm starting to build a system of lenses.

I have over 150 film SLRs, 20 of those being Nikons and Nikkormats. I've collected these over the last four years and have seen the prices of film cameras rise steadily since I started.

Lots of cameras could be found for very little money then, £30 for my F3 and F90x with lenses, £13 for my FG, £17 for my FM with lens. I still find the occasional bargain though. I bought a Nikon 135mm f3.5 Pre-Ai (Type K) lens for £3.99 last week.

I mainly use the same primes, the 50/1.4, Micro-Nikkor 55/2.8, 85/2, 105/2.5 Ai-S and 50/2, Micro-Nikkor 55/2.8 and 135/3.5 Pre-Ai. I also have quite a few Tamron SP lenses including the 90/2.5 52B and the 500/8 55BB.

One day I guess I should take a family photo, of the Nikon family that is, not mine. Mine would never pose.
