Hello Guys

I have just bought a Nikon D5600 and find that Liveview is not giving a true view of the setting that I use to take a picture. For example when I view my target object through liveview, which seems bright enough to take a picture, the liveview picture does not alter when I change the aperture etc, etc when I press the shutter button the picture displayed is far too dark if not even seen.

I have used it in A, M, P mode etc and the liveview is still playing up . I am sorry if the question sounds a bit daft guys, but I have only started using this camera at the weekend and gone through the manual in pdf format and cannot find a solution as yet.

Best regards,

Right a basic question but are we talking outside pictures or in the house, inside the house viewfinder images will possibly look ok even when you dont have enough light for the picture, for liveview images to look ok it needs enough light.

One quick way to test my theory would be to bang the ISO as far up as it will go (no good for taking pictures though) and use P mode, the other way is to try it outside.

Hello Mikew

Thank you very much indeed for your reply and suggestions.

I tried all what you mentioned above and still the same results, i have had about two hours going through the various menu settings and with lots of test / trials and I found a sub menu in Shooting which is called "Built-in assist illuminator" which was set to ON, so I turned of OFF, so all is working well now thank you! I thought I was going mad as its a doddle on my Canon 1100D, sorry if that's a swear word!

Best regards,
