This past week I've been spending a lot of time sorting through my photographs and uploading them to stock photography sites. I've got several skyline photos of Kansas City that I'd love to upload but unfortunately too many of the buildings have lit signs with their names on them and so they need to be edited out in order for any site to take them. I've played around with Photoshop Elements 12 for a couple of hours but the photos aren't coming out like I had hoped. Anyone have any tips? All I've found online show you how to remove the signs that aren't lit up and they don't really help me too much. Thank you for your help!

Removing just small items is tricky enough for me with daytime shots. At night I find it almost impossible to remove items without a trace. If its a small enough sign and light glow you might try cloning.
There are a lot of Photographers here that have much more experience with editing, hopefully one of them will have better advice.

IME, you need a better pixel editor than Elements to clone out things like lit signs and other high contrast parts with good results. If you look in some of the editing exercises we ran in the Mini-challenges subforum, you might get some tips.

Could you perhaps post an exampel of an unsatisfactory result so I could get a better understanding of what you're trying to do? I have had pretty good results removing unwanted things with PS Elements
