Hello Guys

Please can someone help me if possible? I have just recently bought a D5600 camera and I intend to do some simple astrophotography with it. When I put the camera in manual mode and activate liveview and focus and setup the ISO etc so I can see the object in liveview which is quite bright and in focus etc, but when I take the actual picture it turns out too dark and there's appears to be no image at all.  I have read the instruction manual several times, but cannot find a solution as yet. I have another camera not of the Nikon brand and Liveview works all okay. In other words what I see in liveview is what I get when I press the shutter.

Thanking you for your advise in adavance.

Regards, Hadyn - IOM.

I have the D5600 but have never tried using liveview to shoot the stars.  Liveview eats battery power like crazy and with long shots I'm guessing your battery would die even faster.

Hello Fletch

Thank you for replying to my help request regarding my D5600. I looked in the Shooting menu and found a sub menu called "Built-in AF assist illuminator which was set to ON, now turned it to OFF, so all is well thank you!

Best regards,
