Hi.

I have recently decided to take up photography after a recent trip to the Lake Districk.

Like most people, I take a lot of photos with my phone which I share with friends on social media.

On my trip, I took a photo which I thought was really good, I was really impressed with how it looked on my phone. Thought it would make a great wallpaper for my PC desktop.

However, when I loaded the image on the computer, I was really disapointed. On the big monitor, it looked horrible.

So I decided to get a "real" camera, learn how to use it, and then next time (hopefully), it won't be so bad.

Hi and welcome. A "real" camera requires  knowledge of use to get good results....this forum is a good resource to obtain that knowledge so ask away. What part of UK you from?

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

I am in mid Cheshire, so the Lake District, the Peak District and Wales are all not too far for a quick trip over a weekend. Plus many National Trust properties to visit.

I am aware that there will be a lot to learn, but that is where the fun lies  :)
