I am relatively new to my D5600. When I first got it, I connected my Samsung J3 Galaxy phone via bluetooth, and used it to take a few pictures. This was great, as I could stick the camera on the end of a 3m selfie stick, and take some nice panoramas.
Inevitably, Snapbridge has proved incredibly unreliable. Normally, I can no longer connect, unless I uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone. And then, when I can set up a bluetooth link, I cannot use it to remotely control the camera. It comes up with a Wifi error message.
I have scanned forums, and this problem appears to be widespread. So, is there an alternative solution, that doesn't use Snapbridge. I am looking for a remote control unit so that I can press the shutter from a distance. Ideally, I would like to get an image showing the camera view, but at the very least, I would need remote control of the shutter.
I ask, because while trawling the forums I read dark rumours stating that you could only use Snapbridge on the D5600 for remote control.
Please advise.
Oh and thank you for letting me join the forum.
