Hello everyone,

I recently got back in to photography. In high school I had a Canon point and shoot with full manual controls, I learned the exposure triangle from there. Fast forward 10 years, and I purchased a Nikon D7200 used. Met the seller at Schiller's in St. Louis, Mo. The manager (who owns and loves his D7200) gave the camera a once over, and stated it was like new with only 297 shutter actuations. Got the camera, two kit lens (18-55 and 55-200), two cheapo lens (probably wont use), two batteries, charger, cleaning kit, cheap backpack, and cheap tripod for $850.

I have since bought a Promaster xc525 tripod, Altura flash off amazon, and two good memory cards. Today I bought a Lowepro fastpack 250, not sure if I will keep it. I want a side access pack, but I think this pack might be to big. I do want the room to grow in to, but for hiking around, and biking, I think it may be two big.

My preferred photos are landscapes and wildlife, but I take a little bit of everything. I am in law enforcement, and do crime scene processing. I have to take photos of footwear, or tire wear, and need to be able to shoot straight down (hints the promaster tripod). The department is smaller, so I purchased the camera partially to fill this need as well. If it gets broken on duty, I can get it replaced.

I am currently taking a photography for beginners class. I know the majority of what the teacher is explaining, but I'm still learning some neat tips and tricks. I'll take his advanced class in the spring. I want to learn photoshop as well.

I joined this forum to learn from fellow Nikon owners, and figure out settings, gear, and tips for getting better photos. O, and I hope to make a few new friends. Anyone else from around the Southern Illinois area?

A few photos I think I did alright on. Nothing special
