So there's this guy list his D7500 in local listing and its with 45k shutter counts. His asking price is 848$. If i am to buy a new D7500 then it would cost around 1034$. Only this guy is throwing in a yongnuo 50mm 1.8, 16gb sd card and a canon camera kit bag.

i met with this guy and saw the camera. The body is in 9.5/10 condition. No doubt he handled it with care. Also both lenses the kit lense 18-140mm 3.5 - 5.6 and the Yongnuo are in 9.5/10 condition as he used em with hoods and protective glasses.

My only concern is the shutter count. When i asked about this excessive actuation he told me that he was into time lapse videography hence the shutter count.

I bargained with him and dialed his price down to 743$. So should i go ahead with this deal or its better to spend 300$ more and buy a new one. I reiterate that the new one is with kit lens only and abviously 0 shutter count.

Please advise.

PS: i am not a professional or even semi pro. Excited to learn with the help of some decent gear.

Surprised no one has answered you that has a D7500.  Since I don't own one I can only link you to some reviews.

I don't see the D7500 in the camera database here.  The D7100 is listed with an anticipated shutter life of 150000 activations.  That info isn't listed for the D7200.  You could perhaps call or e-mail Nikon to confirm the correct # for the D7500.  In any case, I'd expect it to at least be close to the D7100.

According to many reviews, the expected shutter life is 150000 for the D7500, just like the earlier D7xxx bodies.

If it is a relatively early body, 45000 isn't excessive.

you will get around 150,000 shutter life. also like merco_61 one said. i would see if you could try  it out first or ask if can take to local camera store to do check up before you buy too. also since have lens makes better then brand new one. do you know why he wants to sell his d7500. also from what i been told d7200 better duel card slot and few other stuff. all your getting is downgrade of d500. with one less card slot and few other thing less then d500.
