So recently I bought a film-era (I believe) Nikon brand lens for my D5100, a 70-200mm auto focusing lens with a manual aperture ring that can be locked at its minimum setting of f/32. When I was initially trying it out in the shop I could fix it to the camera and snap pictures with no issue, but about a week after purchase it started showing the prompt "Lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture" despite being very clearly locked in that position. I've tried every manner of locking and unlocking the ring before and after fixing the lens to the body but no matter what I try it still says the same prompt and will not let me shoot. Tried cleaning the electrical contacts with some contact cleaning solution to no avail and at this point I'm throwing my hands up and putting the call out to you users here. Anyone have any idea how to fix this or if there's a way to manually override the prompt so I can just use the aperture ring on the lens? Thanks!

I have the exact same issue with my d7500. It started a few days ago. I've cleaned the contacts and also inspected the "arm" that controls the aperture but still the same issue. My "arm" on the camera is moveable with a little buzz-sound. I hope anybody has a good solution to this. Otherwise I guess a Nikon-service is the only fix. Thank you!
