Hi Everyone,

I have D3300 and recently purchased a new wide angle lens. The instructions indicated that I needed the latest firmware update. I followed the instructions for the update, but when I inserted the SD card into my camera after transferring the update to it from my pc, the "update" choice did not appear as it is supposed to. I have tried this with several cards. I formatted the card first, charged the battery etc. as instructed.

Please help.

Thanks--Diane

Did you manage to put the update file at the root of the card? The file has a .bin extension and the camera only looks at the root level, nowhere else. The usual reason for an update not working is that the update* folder gets dragged to the card instead of the *.bin file.
