I like it. What programm did you use? And what exactly did you  do?

Thanks.  Adobe Camera RAW, then into Elements.

Applied a slight amount of sharpening

Played with the noise reduction sliders until I got what I thought was the least amount of noise while still holding some detail

Reduced shadow and black sliders to get a blacker void - ended up being quite a bit as there was a red tint to parts of the image

Bumped clarity up a little bit to give a little contrast

Resized to 1024px width and saved as a jpeg at highest quality

I'm sure someone who has more experience can do better - it's probably over-processed.  The size of M31 is smaller due to the amount of noise reduction and the heavy increase of black.  A slight increase in whites helps a bit, but too much starts bringing the red back into parts of the image.

Another quick shot of my astro rig as of today.

image.jpg

The red dot finder is on the hotshoe and the Android device on the bracket.

The android device controls the camera using DslrDashboard, where I can set an automated timelapse schedule, currently set to 12 x 4 second exposures at ISO 1600.

As the Android is fixed in relation to the camera, I can use SKeye as a goto, whereby I point the camera/RDF at 3 known stars. The app will then direct me to any objects I wish to view.

If I use another Android, I can remotely control the camera.

If only we could control the weather ;-(
