Hi, 

 

I'm using a Nikon 1 camera with a NIKKOR 32mm f/1.2 Lens.  The problem is that when I'm trying to focus, the camera keeps blacking out on and off with this lens.  The viewfinder goes all black for under a second each time.  If I take a picture during the blackout time, it does save a photo that is all black.  When I replace the lens with my Nikkor 6.7-1.3mm lens, the blacking out does not happen.  

 

Can anyone please help me fix the problem?  I appreciate any advice!

Just a guess but if everything works with other lens this lens may have dirty contacts or something worse. Using a soft eraser gently clean the contacts on the back of the lens.  Don't over do it or scrub real hard.

Another, potentially safer, method of cleaning contacts is using De-oxit gold. This removes oxide from the contacts and leaves a residue that aids electric contact and prevents new oxide from forming for a while.

Thanks, I also noticed that it only happens at lower ISO.

I think you will have better luck at an electronics or hifi shop. Radioshack carried it.
