Inspired by Rontography's comment about how everyone else lives someplace cool, here's the challenge:

No matter where you live, find something beautiful, take a pic and post it here...I'll start with one of my pics of a hummingbird pic I took at the hummingbird feeder this summer.

Ha!

I actually do live in a very beautiful place. I just wish I had some real mountains.

Rontography I live in Florida, so judging from your pictures, I'd say you live in some real mountains.

Thanks.

Hopefully I can get out this weekend and get some pictures of the lakes and hill in their full fall color. It's amazing how much has changed in just the last 48 hours. Hope it lasts until the weekend.

Beautiful places and photos...I'll throw in a few from my area...

Caught this sunset before a football game...had all my gear with me and shot several different views, but my favorite was this one which I took on my iPhone to send to my son who's away in college.

I was supposed to go out of town to photograph several baseball games for the weekend.  Rented a lens to keep things interesting (200-400) and the baseball got canceled...Went out to a local park to see what I could find...it was cold and had been windy.  The wind blew water up on branches over the river and it created a pretty interesting set of photos...saw the deer on my way out of the park...

Nice images and I have heard a couple of people from USA mentioning renting a lens, don't think it is something that you can do in the UK or if it is, I have not come across it. Sounds like a great idea. Do you rent them from large dealerships or is it small town camera shops?

Thanks :) I usually there's a waterfall flowing in the middle there but we've had a rather dry fall so far.

This should work for you Tony:

Tony - there are several online options for renting - borrowlenses.com comes to mind first.  However, I normally rent from a chain that has a shop not too far from my house.  I know they have shops in the UK as well, but don't know the UK well enough to see how close they are to you.  I also don't know if they rent in the UK, but you can check for yourself.  Calumet Photo is where I've rented gear in the past (calumetphoto.com).

Very cool pic! How did you do it?

Thank you very much.

30 second long exposure, camera remotely triggered by me (on the right side of the photo), my wife (left side of the photo) stayed only 15 seconds and the ghosts in the center were just people walking towards us the duration of the exposure.

Cheers

What a great photo, think it is great and what a clever approach. When you say you 'stayed only 15 secs', presume that you mean that you then moved behind the camera. Did you move quickly and I can see no trace of your presence moving on the photo.
