Hi there!

I am a newer photographer and I have my first shoot coming up where sunset/ night has been requested. I know that my camera is very basic. I looked into getting lighting and a photographer friend said that I cant use a strobe??

"Apparently the flash system on that particular camera inhibit the shoe from being used with a remote receiver. very Weird"

So.. is that true? Is there a way around that? What should I do? What should I get to make this shoot happen? Please help. Jve been googling like crazy and called a local camera place and no one can answer me directly.

Thank you!!

I did a quick check on Nikon's site and it indicates that the SB-500 is compatible with the D3400.  I am sure there are many off brand flashes that will work as well.  Some of those may not provide all automated options...
