Hi - I'm new to the Nikon forum.  I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with my query. I've recently purchased the Nikon D850 and have been testing the Focus Shift function on the camera.  I seem to be having a problem getting sharp focus from front to back.  I've read the manual and watched numerous videos showing how to set up the camera in Focus Shift mode which seems all very straight forward but I'm obviously missing something in the setup.  I have also tried different Nikon lenses (Macro 105mm and 24-70mm) but the camera appears to not move focus off the initial subject and move to the back subjects.  I have the the camera mounted on a tripod and have checked that both lens and camera are in AF mode, and the camera set to 'single' shot. So after the camera takes the required number of frames - they appear to all be the same ie the subject closest to the camera (which I have focused on) is sharp and the distant subjects are all out of focus in all the frames taken. I'm sure that I'm missing something simple. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
