I just bought my first camera and everytime I turn it on I get this message "Before taking photos, rotate the zoom ring to extend the lens"

It is really annoyng. Can somebody please help me to remove it.

My camera is Nikon D3400 AF-P 18-55VR Kit.

You can either get a lens that doesn't have the compact storage L setting on the zoom ring or just not rotate the zoom ring past 18 mm. I am not sure if staying away from the L setting will keep the message from appearing as I don't have that lens or body.

The message is there because the AF isn't active with that lens in storage mode.

you will see that unless you zoom out lens. my kit lens 18-55mm does that. if you do not extend lens you get that on view screen. now if happen when fully zoom
