Was hoping a really awesome person can help me with this, because i can't figure it out :(

when i first bought my camera, i was able to link it together with snapbridge once upon a time but after that one time, for some really odd reason, it doesn't link anymore. I think I have wifi turned on, i can see it on my phone when i search for wifi, but it won't let me connect to it. In my snapbridge app, i always get the error "The connection to the camera has failed. Try again after reading online help information on how the problem can be addressed" I try to go online, but no luck. I try to reset the connection on my camera but the option is greyed out, all I can do is click current settings... I'm not sure what else I could do, so if anyone has had this same problem and know a fix, i would very much appreciate the help. Thanks in advance! :)

This thread might be helpful. It is about the D3400, but Snapbridge is equally clunky on all cameras and devices.

thanks for the thread link, however, my bluetooth connects fine. I am able to link the camera to my phone but to use it for remote photography, it needs to be connected wirelessly as well T.T

i dont think there is another option for wireless remote on the D5600 from what i've read, unless i'm missing something and there is another option i just haven't read about?

All connections between device and camera has to go through the Snapbridge app. If you try to handle things in a normal way, as Bluetooth and Wifi, it just won't work.

And what does the online help information recommend to address the problem?

Just like with the Bluetooth problems... Make camera and device forget *everything* about each other and redo the pairing from start, starting with the camera and then run *everything* through Snapbridge.

One thing to look out for is if the powersaving auto-off settings are too tight in the camera, the Wifi will turn itself off before the device has connected.

Looks like lots of good info on that site for remote photography...I'd suggest following Merco's instructions - clear out everything and start from scratch...and forget anything you know about bluetooth or wifi - it won't help you here...just work from Snapbridge...

i've cleared, restarted, reset, repaired, repeat a bunch of times already, i've even reset the wifi settings on my camera at one point, but now i dont have the option to reset the wifi as it is grayed out on the camera menu options. it worked once upon a time, but redoing everything over and over again now, is not working anymore. was wondering if anyone else with the D5600 camera specifically have this kind of issue..

I have exactly the same problem with my D7500. No prpblwm with the Snapbridge app, just with the Remote Photography function. I don't know if it matters, but I use Xiaomi Redmi Pro. I thought everything should be OK.
I tried reinstalling the app, installing older versions, forgetting the connection, everything.
Did anyone manage to solve this problem?

I have the D5600 and unfortunately can't help you as I have no issues connecting remotely, on the rare time I get the error I am usually able to retry and connect.  1 thing I still havn't done is upgrade the firmware as I've been to lazy, I wonder if upgrading will screw it up for me.

I'm having the same issue with my D5600 and I have a Samsung Galaxy A6+. I managed to connect it last year but then I stupidly unpaired them a few days ago now my Bluetooth on my camera is greyed out and my NFC and wifi (I "Forgot" the Wi-Fi as well I think) won't connect either.

Update to earlier comment; I have the D5600 and use SnapBridge to do remote Photography when doing star shots.  The more I used it the more I have trouble with it connecting as well but it will connect, sometimes on the 1st attempt and sometimes after several tries.  I find I have better luck in holding the phone closer to the camera when its sync'ing.  When I have to do multiple tries I always completely close the App and start over.

I've been having this problem and I *think* it may be related to the automatic timeout in the INFO screen - which isn't adjustable on the D5600.  My phone and the camera don't seem to want to connect once the INFO screen blanks out so here's what I've been doing:

1. Turn on camera and start SnapBridge on my phone.

2. Press the INFO button on the camera so that the INFO screen appears.  I'll see the Bluetooth icon blinking.

3. Select "Remote Photography" to start WiFi on the camera.  While this is happening I spin the shutter speed wheel back and forth to keep the INFO display from blanking out.

4. It usually fails to connect but WiFi does get turned on.  I go to the WiFi settings on my smartphone and connect to the camera WiFi there.

5. Once it connects the INFO screen will stay displayed.  I can then go back to SnapBridge and select "Remote Photography" and it works.

This is pretty messed up but it seems to work reliably.  It seems to come down to how the camera handles Bluetooth, WiFi, and the the INFO screen.

It sometimes works if I put the display in either Playback mode or in the Menu but seems more reliable using the above method.

Ah.  Excellent.  This will help.  I'd found a reference to another model Nikon that provided a c4 timing setting (can't recall what it was called).  When I determined that c4 didn't exist as a setting on the D5600 I'd assumed there was no way to set it.  Thank you.

I had the same problem with A900, but somehow I worked it out. So, here comes the guide:

1. Connect camera to phone over bluetooth using SnapBridge's quick guide.

2. View network settings on camera and create new connection (enter SSID, encription mode and password) in Wi-Fi setup on the phone (yes, before it's turned on).

3. Open SnapBridge and press "download pictures". Choose to turn on Wi-Fi. SnapBridge turns on Wi-Fi in the camera, but doesn't wait long enought for the phone to connect to it.

4. Wait till you get the message that the connection failed (that's the big picture in the first post in this topic) and confirm it by pressing OK.

5. Now quickly go to phone WiFi settings and connect to still active (but not for long) camera WiFi.

6. Return to SnapBridge and press the settings gear and choose Wi-Fi mode.

7. Press "Wi-Fi connection", "Next" and "Open the device settings app". This seems unnecessary, but returning back from any of this points won't work!

8. As the phone is already connected to the camera, just go back to SnapBridge.

9. Hallelujah!

I've had issues connecting the WIFI for remote connection for the first time, made some rooky mistakes, but have worked out a solution**.

**Make sure phone has not auto connected to other wifi or bluetooth devices (mine wanted to connect to our internet via wifi and a bluetooth speaker).

Open the app and...

Pair bluetooth from scratch as described earler -  I missed that both phone and camera had to approve the pairing (more "ok" buttons during the process on the camera)

In the phones wifi settings, chose the SSID of the camera and add the Password (found on the camera network settings screen) and  connect to the wifi of the camera - **I have to go back in and make sure the phone is connected to the cameras wifi (green tick on iSO) every time I want to get remote access.

Back in the app. choose remote connection, the WIFI connecting marker goes two thirds round the circle and hangs for about 10 seconds -  The Fail message pops up at this point normally, but if not, the WIFI symblol in the maker goes green and after a further 20 second connects.

A fully charged phone helps too.

Good luck.
