I am in the market for a replacement of my Nikon SB-24 Strobe. I have seen many SB-24 strobes available, however I believe I would be better off getting a more updated release from Nikon. Nikon stopped making the SS 400 in 2013, but there are many of them out there and available for a very reasonable price. Some even come with a 30 day warranty. I have read many glowing reviews on this unit, (including my close, personal friend, Ken Rockwell) and it appears to be exactly what I am looking for. It does offer the ability to bounce light off of ceilings and walls, however it cannot swivel from side to side. It is also very stingy with batteries as even regular AA Alkalines last a long time.
So if anyone has prior experience with this unit or knows anyone who has, I will appreciate any input offered.
Many thanks,
Tony
P.S. Almost forgot, it is for my Nikon D200. Compatible.
