Hi all,

Might be a bit of a rookie question, I purchased a D500 a couple of weeks back with a Nikkor 200-500mm lens. When I mount the lens there is a quite bit of play 1-2mm clock wise and anti clockwise. Is thos something that i should be worried about, just anted to check before I contact the shop about this..

Cheers

Jonathan

1-2 mm sounds excessive. Some tenths of a mm is usual. Have you measured it or is it just a feeling? Half a mm feels like a lot more when handling a big, heavy lens.

Check the lens mount on the lens itself. I was starting to get a bit of play in my 70-200mm. I discovered the screws on the mount were loose. Tightening them up did the trick.
