Hello!

I recently bought a D7500 and I still can't quite figure out the best way to use the bluetooth/wifi feature of the camera. It seems that I can only connect it to my phone? That's hard to believe if that's true. Yet I can't find any info on connecting it in a convenient way to my Mac for example.

What I expect would happen is that the camera would present itself as a mountable volume, but instead it looks like i have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to connect it to my phone?

Please tell me I'm doing something wrong or I'm going to be really disappointed.

Thanks,

  Sergei

I have the D5500 and the functionality for me is to tether to my phone. I can grab photos taken while connected, and control the shutter from my phone. Unfortunately, because of the extremely limited functionality, and the jankiness of the phone app, I’ve long since stopped using it, and treat my camera like one without the feature. Good luck.

I wonder what sins we have committed to be punished with snapbridge... It is for devices only, and you have to forget everything about how ordinary bluetooth devices work to use it. You have to let the Snapbridge app handle all connections. If you try to connect in a normal way, the camera will protest, but not in an intelligible way. Snapbridge is one of the reasons I am happy that I got my D7200 instead of a D7500. You can't connect wirelessly to a computer using the built-in Wifi, but at least the connection to a device is reliable.
