Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 20 May 2018, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Peter is running a fun single-lens challenge--everyone is welcome to play. Just look for the One Week, One Camera, One Lens thread in the mini-challenge forums.

P.P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

Sorry I got behind again!

I think this will be a polarising image. I hope at least some of you get why I like it and think it my best for this week.

I see the flowers on the right side, in the dark are in focus, and really quite sharp.

I posted a single cactus flower earlier the week as an example of HDR.  The is the original, before HDR,  I also gave it a touch of "old Painting" in PS (filter/stylize/old paint)

Kind of late to the party.  Here's one from Saturday, the 19th.

Heh...I'm even later than you, Mark. Someday maybe I'll get caught up.

This past weekend, I took my family to a lantern festival held somewhere out in the west desert--middle of nowhere, truly. This was my first time attending such an event, and I've gotta say, it was surprisingly cool. I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but it was actually beautiful and moving to witness. There were thousands of people there, so the sky was quite full of the lanterns. I don't think any of my photos do it justice, but I think I'm counting this as a practice round. I'll probably get tickets next time they do it around here, and I'll be a bit better prepared. (At the very least, I will try not to be so lazy and bring my tripod.)
