This evening I decided to take a few indoor shots using my Nikon D200 and Nikon SB-24 Speedlight. The speedlight never fired off a shot. The batteries are brand new Energizer AA Ultimate. The on light comes on, but I cannot get the test button to fire off when pressed. I tried every setting on the Speedlight, but no success. I cleaned the hot shoe and the connectors on the speedlight, but unfortunately, no luck. Is it safe to assume that the bulb is dead? It is an older speedlight, however it really has not seen all much action.
Thanks for any assistance.
